Tanning doesn't necessarily help - your acne just doesn't appear so bad on tanned skin. Tanning has no effect on acne itself. Toxins from radiation and drying of the outer layers of skin can greatly add to breakout problems. I wouldn't recommend tanning.
I have acne myself and I just cover it with make-up. Over the years nothing has helped. I've tried all kinds of expensive cosmetics (right now I use L'oreal products) even those recommended by my dermatologist. The only thing I haven't tried yet are hormones...and accutane, but that is a dangerous drug - my friend has used it for a few months and had to stop.

It depends, do you just have consistent bad acne, or random breakouts?

Crushing up aspirin and making a paste out of it is awesome to use on small breakouts to dry them out.

hm, sorry I really don´t know what could help.
nobody in my whole family has acne..

i know this might be stupid but didn´t manson mention in his book that when he had acne as a child/teenager he went to the solarium? or infra red light?

Anyone know good home remedies for acne? Prefereably ones you've tried personally. Benzoyl peroxide and salicycl acid only help me for a short while...

Any suggestions would be appreciated
